Bill's early life

Bill Murray went from being one of the all-time great casts of Saturday Night Live to being one of the all-time great comedy movie stars. Starring in such films as Groundhog Day. Ghostbusters, Stripes, and many more. He is not only known for his signature comedy style and cheeky attitude on screen, but also for his shenanigans off the screen.

But is Bill Murray really a HollyWood star who has been typecast?

His career in comedy started as a stand up comedian after he followed his older brother Brian into Chicago. Brian was the first in the family to get into acting and they've even starred together in films, such as GroundHog Day. Bill was then taken under the wing of John Belushi who helped his polish his act.
Bill Murray started his screen performances on the show 'Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell', which ended after only one season. He the got an opportunity to join the cast of 'Saturday Night Live' in its second season.
However, his first big box office hit was a film called 'Meatballs' in which he played the comedic character, and later went on to work with the same director in CaddyShack. This set Bill Murray into the minds of the public.

The Independent's article on Bill Murray is something I find very interesting, as it's about these stories you hear about people meeting Bill in unusual circumstances and only leads you to believe that he has a very comedic personality.
